Zatoichi is a nineteenth century blind nomad who makes his dwelling as a gambler and masseur. Nevertheless, behind this humble facade, he’s a grasp swordsman gifted with a lightning-fast draw and breathtaking precision. Whereas wandering, Zatoichi discovers a distant mountain village on the mercy of Ginzo, a ruthless gang-leader. Ginzo disposes of anybody who will get in his means, particularly after hiring the mighty samurai ronin, Hattori, as a bodyguard. After a raucous evening of playing on the town, Zatoichi encounters a pair of geishas–as harmful as they’re beautiful–who’ve come to avenge their mother and father’ homicide. Because the paths of those and different colourful characters intertwine, Ginzo’s henchmen are quickly after Zatoichi. Together with his legendary cane sword at his facet, the stage is ready for a riveting showdown.
